All DIET’s can work, but they are meant to be temporary. Some are not sustainable for a long period of time. Intermittent Fasting is not a diet, it is more so an eating pattern. For myself, Intermittent Fasting is the simplest way to keep my body in a place where I feel good and do not overeat while still enjoying the foods I love. Be realistic with your nutrition goals. If you can’t stick with it long term, it won’t work long term.
On a typical weekday I exercise at 5:30am and do not eat until around 11am – 12pm. I have a decent sized lunch and then I eat a good sized supper around 5pm – 6pm. This equates to a ~16 hour fasting window. Using this method works for me. It allows me to eat big meals and stay full and not get hungry during that time. The key with any nutrition plan is finding what works for you and your lifestyle so that you can continue doing it long term. I pretty much eat whatever I want, the only restriction I use is keeping my sugar to a minimum (this includes drinks).
Fasting has a ton of health benefits and is actually very good for the body, mind and soul. You don’t have to do it for those reasons, as I don’t. I do it because it allows me the flexibility to eat what I want (for the most part), it’s convenient and cheap (skipping a meal is free). It keeps my weight in check and I feel good and have energy throughout the day.
